Eagle Day Review

THE ESCAPE

I had read a fictional novel titled THE ESCAPE, which was about the foundation of an organization named CHERUB and the wars. CHERUB was a group that used kids, who were trained and treated like secret agents, to stop the negative events such as raping , murdering, terrorism. The organization used this speech to persuade the governments and military armies to tell them ugly situations or events, 'Only CHERUB agents can unearth the truth. They're trained professionals with one essential advantage: adults never suspect that children are spying on them". There is a series of books of CHERUB. In sum, there are 12 series of CHERUB. The novel was written by a English man named Robert Muchamore in March, 2011. I really enjoyed reading that novel.

The story was set in May 1940 and started off as the book told that the German invaded France for the certain purposes: To take over the land and to kill the British spy named Henderson and have his documents about groups of trained British spies. The main characters were Marc Kilgour, Rosie Clarke, Paul Clarke, and Charles Henderson. Marc was a French boy who was twelve years old and an orphan. He lived in a decrepit farmhouse for 11 years. He desired to run away from the orphanage as he was treated badly by an owner of the orphanage named Director Tomas. His only wish was to get out of the place he stayed for 11 years and have a peaceful life. He escaped with both enthusiasm and fear while German air raids was attacking the farmhouse with no pity. He realized that there wasn't any safe place left in France. Thus, he looked for a place he could live in until he found out his new purpose of live when he found a house. He lived in that house for few months and it belonged to a man named Henderson. Rosie and Paul were the daughter and son of a man named Mr. Clarke. He was the French sales representative for the Imperial Wireless Company. Rosie and Paul were both eleven years old. Rosie was a girl who was slightly-built. Paul was a shy boy. Their mother mother died after she gave a birth to Paul. Later on, their father died because of unfortunate event and told them to find a British man named Charles Henderson before he left the world. They spent few months searching for him but they couldn't find him. Therefore , they started to live in Church with a priest, his wife and a boy named Hugo. Henderson was a one of the British spies and his mission was to gain any information that was related to Hitler and his great, large, and monstrous army. Those characters were the main protagonists in the book.

The story of the novel was very interesting as I learnt about World War and Hitler. Long time ago, when I was young, I wondered what Hitler did and how horrible the World War was. I learnt so much from that book. After I finished the fictional-story, I realized how horrible and scary the gestapos, SS officers, U-boats , air raids, Nazis, World war 2 and about communism were. The main reason why I loved it so much was because of the used vocabulary and the story. For example, I was very interested when I was on the scene where Marc was caught by 4 gestapos. I thought their black uniforms and their strength were impressive until they thrashed Marc several times to gain knowledge about Henderson out of him. After I read those lines telling about how much Marc suffered, I was very grateful that I was born in modern days. There were lots of scenes that involved shooting and escaping. I was so into the novel that my mom kept telling me to let my eyes rest. There were lots of scenes about Henderson and Marc going into the few spots where there were lots of trained soldiers, hided few bombs inside the buildings, and escaped when the bombs exploded as the explosion took several lives away. After I finished reading the whole book, I kept reading my favourite parts all over and over again until I had enough.

I really enjoyed the novel THE ESCAPE but I thought it could improve by decreasing some inappropriate scenes. For examples, there were lots of snogging and body contacts in the book. There were about 7 pages about it. As I was too young to think about sex and didn't even get a first kiss, I would prefer deleting harems, and adding more conflicts would be. Moreover, the sex was not really related to the story so I thought it wasn't necessary. Then, it would be a perfect book to me.

Last month, I read a book named THE ESCAPE. I was amazed because the novel was amusing. The main 2 reasons why I liked it was because the story was exciting and it helped me learn about various things. It could improve by lessening unnecessary information. Still, it was very wonderful with the way it was.
